The Clark County Building Regulations is a certified building department authorized by the State of Ohio to enforce residential and commercial building codes at a local level. We enforce building, HVAC, and electrical codes, as well as flood damage prevention codes. While codes cannot prevent every disaster, they are meant to provide reasonable controls for the construction, use and occupancy of buildings.

We have jurisdiction in the unincorporated areas of Clark County and the following incorporated areas:

Catawba
South Vienna
South Charleston
North Hampton
Donnelsville
New Carlisle
Enon

Our Zoning Department has jurisdiction in the following Townships.

Madison

Mad River

Moorefield

Green

Bethel

All other townships and villages take care of their own zoning

Building a new home?

	Please allow 7-10 working days for a building permit to be issued.
	To ensure the quickest possible service, please make sure you have all the necessary paperwork submitted (see permit procedures brochure). Click here for printable BROCHURE.
	Ask questions: If you have a question regarding your plans or paperwork, contact our office. Our residential plans examiner can give you a preliminary review by appointment only.
	Foundation to grade permits: If you need to get started quickly, we have available foundation to grade permits for $65.00. Submit an application and foundation plan with the appropriate zoning, site approval etc
