Mr. John Detrick was born in Clark County, Ohio and graduated from Tecumseh High School. After high school, Mr. Detrick attended Wittenberg University earning a Bachelors of Science in Education. 

Mr. Detrick has worked as an educator at both South High School in Springfield and Mechanicsburg High School in Mechanicsburg. He is owner of  Springfield Tire and Battery specializing in wholesale/retail auto parts.

Mr. Detrick is heavily involved in civic activities throughout the community. Among his involvement, he has served as Board of Directors President for the Ohio Valley Auto Association from 1982 to 1991, served as member of Board of Directors for Mercy Western Ohio from 1992 to 1995, served as member of Board of Directors for Huntington Bank from 1990-1995,rejoined in 2000,  served a Chairman of the Clark County Park District from 1990 to 1995, and served as President for the St Johns Center from 1980 to 1994. Mr. Detrick was elected into office of County Commissioner in 1997  and presently serves as the President of the Board of County Commissioners for Clark County, Ohio.

Mr. Detrick is actively involved in property management in the Clark County area.

Mr. Detrick values the importance of his family. He and his wife Karen have been married for 31 years and have two children, Daniel and Kimberly.
