Our Mission:

The Juvenile Court in Clark County, Ohio, is a section of the Clark County Common Pleas Court's Domestic Relations Division.  Our mission is to protect the Clark County community from juvenile crime, assist the victims of that crime, counsel and rehabilitate our children who commit crimes, & extend loving protection to abused, neglected & dependent children.  Each member of the Clark County community is an integral part of this effort, and we appreciate your support of our efforts on your behalf.

37,924 children (those persons under the age of 18 years) live in Clark County, Ohio.  Fortunately, many of these children enjoy the benefits of loving, nurturing parents and clean, appropriate homes.  Unfortunately, not all of our children are so fortunate.  Each year some of our children also commit status offenses, and/or engage in even more serious behavior which would be criminal if they were adults.

Juvenile Court becomes involved in the lives of our children who:

  1. Are victims of abuse and neglect;

  2. Do not obey their parents, school officials, and other custodians;

  3. Do not attend school, who violate curfew;

  4. Drink alcoholic beverages and use drugs;

  5. Commit criminal conduct;

Referrals reach the court through various channels, including, among others, parents, school officials, law enforcement authorities, neighbors, Children Services Representatives and the Prosecutor's Office.

Adults who contribute to the unruliness or delinquency of children are also prosecuted in Juvenile Court.

Consistent with our mission to provide safe & appropriate homes to the children of Clark County, Ohio, Juvenile Court handles paternity, child support, child custody and visitation cases.
