Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP)
Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP)

The CHIP grant can provide assistance to low-moderate income (LMI) individuals within Clark County (but outside of the City of Springfield) who have a combined total household income of less than 80% of the area median income (AMI). Assistance is provided by way of one of the following activities:

  • Private Owner Rehabilitation ($227,000 total activity budget) - Assists homeowners by correcting multiple disrepair issues - bringing the home up to the OHCP Residential Rehabilitation Standard (RRS). Work may not exceed maximum per-instance budget. Note: This activity requires that a 15-year, no payment, forgivable mortgage be placed on the property.
  • Home Repair ($125,000 total activity budget) - Assists homeowners by correcting one or two significant problems within the home. These corrections will bring the individual systems up to RRS. Work may not exceed maximum per-instance budget. This activity is treated as a grant to the homeowner.

Clark County Community Development (CCCD) is completing its work under the FY2013 CHIP grant and is scheduled to reapply for grant funding in May of 2016.
