
Lieutenant
Dustin A. White
is the Division Commander of the
Uniform Patrol
Division. The Uniform Patrol Division consists of 25 patrol
deputies, the City of New Carlisle, and all the township
patrol deputies including Bethel, Moorefield, and Mad River
Townships.
Lt. White began his career with the Clark
County Sheriffs Office on October 16, 1995. Prior to this,
Lt. White served two years with the Champaign County
Sheriffs Office. Lt. White is a life-long resident of Clark
County, a 1990 graduate of Northwestern High School and a
1993 graduate of Clark State Community College with an
Associate degree in Law Enforcement Technology. He is also a
graduate of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy also
from Clark State Community College. Lt. White has been
assigned to the Jail Division, Uniform Patrol Division, and
Criminal Investigations Division.
During his tenure
as a Clark County Sheriffs Deputy, Lieutenant White has
received numerous awards including the Exceptional Service
Award, Meritorious Service Awards, Homicide Apprehension
Awards, Attendance and Service Awards as well as the
Sheriffs Award. This is the highest commendation a Clark
County Deputy Sheriff can receive for reflecting the general
public, fellow workers and superior officers as to what a
Clark County Deputy Sheriff should be. "The Best of the
Best". In 2002, Lt. White received the 2002 "Sons of the
American Revolution Law Enforcement Commendation Medal". In
May of 2011, Lt. White received the "Service above self"
award presented by the Springfield Rotary Club in
recognition of demonstrated professionalism, high ethical
standards, and selfless dedication to the community.
On October 14, 2011, Lt. White was recognized
by the Ohio Attorney General for the Ohio Distinguished Law
Enforcement Valor Award. This was for his performance above
and beyond the call of duty and for bravely risking his life
to protect Ohioans. On November 10, 2011, Lt. White received
the Command Staff Officer of the Year Award. This is an
inner agency award that is voted by his peers.
Lieutenant White was promoted to the rank of
Sergeant in September of 2003. Since then, he has supervised
patrol deputies on the Second and First Shifts. In May of
2011, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and Division
Commander of the Uniform Patrol Division.
