In an effort to provide better service
and continue cost containment Clark County Sheriff Gene A. Kelly announces that
on Monday March 3rd 2009 the Clark County Jail will not accept money
for prisoner accounts. All deposits for inmates in the Clark County Jail will
be made in the lobby of the Clark County Public Safety Building using the “
KIOSK”. The Kiosk will accept cash or credit card. The
Kiosk will not accept one or two dollar bills and will not give change. Money
can also be deposited in an inmate account by logging on to
www.inmatedeposits.com or by calling Cybersuite at 1-866-345-1884. Every
inmate in the Clark County Jail has a prisoner account and can purchase such
items as a birthday card with a stamp for $1.68 , a deck of playing cards for
$1.93, phone cards Or a chocolate moon pie for 65 cents.
Family and friends may come into the
lobby of the Clark County Jail 24 hours a day and seven days a week and make a
deposit in an inmates account. They will need the inmates ID number and the
correct spelling of the inmates name. The inmate ID number is needed regardless
of which method you choose to use, along with the correct spelling of the name.
Each transaction will be charged a fee. This new system will provide better
service for family and friends dropping off money for an inmate. It will
provide more accurate and up to date accounting, along with reducing the
workload of personnel at the Sheriff’s Office counting the money and issuing
receipts.
Visitation at the Clark County Jail
shall remain noon to 2pm. and 6 to 8pm. Tuesday thru Saturday. For inmates with
the last name of A- K they can have visitors Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday and for
inmates that have a last name beginning with L thru Z they can have visits
Wednesday-Friday- Saturday. Each inmate receives one 30 minute visit per week,
which may have one adult at a time. No more than 2 juveniles per visit and they
must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. To visit you also must have a
photo ID.
The Clark County Jail will no longer
use the J-Pay system to deposit money in an inmates account.
