Ponds

Pond clinics are sponsored to present topics on pond construction and maintenance, fish stocking, weed control, home and livestock water supply, and soil and water conservation practices. The District offers an annual fingerling fish sale to pond owners.

Drainage Assistance

Technical assistance is provided by the District to address drainage problems for both urban and rural areas.

Urban Sediment Control

Working agreements with the Environmental Protection Agency permit the District to review development plans and inspect construction sites for compliance of storm water and sediment control regulations and the use of Best Management Practices.

Soil Information

The Clark County Soil Survey is available at the District. Planners, community officials, engineers, developers, builders, and home buyers can use the survey to plan land use, select sites for construction, and identify special practices needed to ensure proper performance.

Conservation Planning and Education

The District provides technical assistance to producers by planning, surveying, designing and supervising the installation of conservation Best Management Practices to control erosion and flooding, provide wildlife habitat, maximize production, preserve water resources and more. Field Days, Land Use Seminars, Radio Programs, and Tours are sponsored to provide information and promote District programs and opportunities.
