Tax Information

Stephen T. Metzger was first elected in 1988 and is currently serving his fourth term as Treasurer of Clark County, Ohio. As Treasurer, Metzger serves as the Investment Officer for the county with an average portfolio of $60 million. The County Treasurer serves on various boards as required by Ohio Law: Data Processing Board, Investment Advisory Board, Board of Revision and Budget Commission.

Prior to his election as County Treasurer, Metzger served (7) seven years in the Clark County Common Pleas Court and (7) seven years as a Certified State Examiner with the Auditor of State of Ohio, beginning in September 1975. Metzger is currently a member of the Treasurer's Association of Ohio Legislative Committee.

Other duties of the County Treasurer are the annual collection of Real Estate Taxes ($115 million), Personal Property Taxes ($11 million) and Manufactured Home Taxes ($775,000.).

The County Treasurer serves a banking function for all county offices and is responsible for the daily and monthly reconciliation of all accounts with the county's depository accounts.
