West Recycling Station, Springfield

Office at 1602 West Main St., open 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday; closed government holidays.

Parking lot with drop-off containers is open 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. seven days a week.

North Recycling Station, Springfield

525 East Home Road, located behind the Children’s Home, near the Health District

Bin Types

Each station has three kinds of bins: 

Bins for paperboard and cardboard

Bins for paper (newspapers, magazines, catalogs, office paper). If a station does not have a separate bin for paper, the Rumpke bins can also accept paper.

Bins for cans, glass,plastic, and paper  (These bins are serviced by Rumpke.)

In addition, the West Station has a container for books and a yard waste bin.

Please Note: Items placed in the bins should NOT be in plastic bags or trash bags.

We ask that you carefully review the list of acceptable items and the correct methods of preparation. Items not listed as acceptable will be considered CONTAMINATION and may increase program costs.

Specialty Recycling Center

First Saturday of each month, 9 a.m. - noon

When the first Saturday falls on a holiday weekend, the Center will open on the second Saturday



Televisions and monitors, 10¢ a pound. (Limit 5 per visit)

Note: TV tubes by themselves are a flat $10 fee.

All other electronics are FREE. We take computer systems, stereo equipment, VCR’s, DVD players.

15¢ per lb.

Household Hazardous Waste

$1.00 per lb.

Cooking Oil

Cooking oils and greases accepted free, but must be given to a staff member for pouring into the proper container.

Please strain all food pieces out of the oil.

This service is available to Clark County residents only (no businesses, farms, schools, or government agencies).

Propane Cylinders

Tanks for backyard grills, usually 10-20 pounds, are accepted free.

The small cylinders used for camping are accepted for $1 a pound.
