[ARCHIVED] Derr Road Construction - Road Closure - Update 3/16/2017

DERR ROAD - ROAD CONSTRUCTION

Status Update:  3/16/2017
Derr Road construction between State Route 334 and Moorefield Road begins Monday March 20, 2017 and will continue approximately 120 calendar days, broken into three (3) phases as follows:

Phase 4 – March 20, 2017
The project will close the roadway between Weber Road and Montego Drive starting March 20, 2017.  This section will take approximately four weeks.  During that time, residents will need to access Derr Road from the north end at Moorefield Road.  Anyone requiring access between Montego Drive and Moorefield Road can also use Montego Drive, but there will be a one or two day closure of Montego Drive near the end of this phase.

Phase 5
The contractor will then open the section of Derr Road south of Montego Drive and close the section from Montego Drive to Cheyenne Avenue/Forest Edge Avenue for approximately 45 days.  This will roughly be from April 17 to June 2, give or take.  During that time, residents will have to access closed sections of Derr Road from the north end at Moorefield Road.

Phase 6
The final section will close Derr Road from Cheyenne Avenue to Moorefield Road.  The County will maintain access to each business and residence, but drivers should allow more time to get in and out as they will need to follow signs, be aware of construction workers and equipment, etc. Your patience throughout this process is appreciated.

Please watch for changes in traffic patterns and follow signs accordingly. We apologize in advance for any inconveniences!

During Stage 1 Derr Road will be closed to through traffic between Villa Road and State Route 334 for 120 calendar days and detours posted accordingly. Traffic will be maintained to residents and all businesses within the closed sections. Your patience throughout this process is appreciated.
