The Springview Government Center, 3130 E. Main St., will close at 1 p.m. on Friday afternoons starting May 22 for the remainder of 2020 to accommodate staffing issues caused by furloughs during this unprecedented situation. The building will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday. The closure will affect several departments including Clark County Community and Economic Development, Clark County Personnel, the Clark County Soil and Water Conservation District, the Clark County Coroner’s Office and the Clark County-Springfield Transportation Coordinating Committee. The Clark County Ohio State University Extension Office remains closed to the public.
The Clark County Utilities office will remain open on Friday afternoons. Information on how to reach the office will be posted on the western breezeway entrance. Drop-box services for the Utilities department are also available in the parking lot. The change in Friday hours will not affect the Clark County Board of Elections, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office or the Clark County Emergency Management Agency. Social distancing guidelines remain in place in all Clark County buildings to better serve both residents and county employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. The county recently installed barriers in certain areas to limit interaction with the public and protect employees. The county is strongly encouraging those seeking in-person services to take several precautions including:
• Submitting temperature checks.
• Wearing appropriate face coverings out of respect for others.
• Maintaining social/physical distancing of six feet at all times.
