SPRINGFIELD, OH (Sept. 29, 2020) — Clark County Clerk of Courts Melissa Tuttle received the Good Government Spotlight from the Office of Ohio Auditor of State Keith Faber for creating the first multi-lane drive-thru title office in Ohio.

Tuttle opened the drive-thru title office at a former bank location in the Southern Village Shopping Center in Springfield in September of 2019. During the COVID-19 crisis, people have driven from all over the state to use her drive-thru services. The office was able to assist customers without them ever leaving their cars. Many car dealers took advantage of her innovative office in Springfield while their local title offices were closed. Nearly 40 percent of the more than 7,000 dealer titles issued at the Clerk’s office are from out-of-county dealers this year.

“As I often say the Clerk’s Office is one of few agencies in county government that has to work for business because of cross county titling,” Tuttle said. “I’m proud of my team for being able to accommodate and serve so many people across Ohio.”
