SPRINGFIELD (Dec. 1, 2020) — Clark County Auditor John S. Federer announced 2021 Clark County Dog Tags will go on sale today, Dec. 1, 2020 through Jan. 31, 2021.
Three-year or permanent (lifetime of dog) licenses are available for dogs, in addition to the traditional one-year license. A one-year tag is $22, the three-year tag is $66 and the permanent tag is $220.
Dog tags can be purchased online at clarkcountyauditor.org by clicking on the 2020 Dog License tab. The link will redirect users to complete either a new or renewal registration and purchase your tag(s) via a secure site.
Owners may also mail in their application, along with the proper fee and a self-addressed stamped envelope to: John S. Federer, Clark County Auditor, P. O. Box 1325, Springfield 45501-1325. In-person sales are currently unavailable at the Clark County Auditor’s Office, 31 N. Limestone Street, Springfield due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
All dogs over three months old and that have been owned for more than 30 days are required to be licensed per the State of Ohio. Tags purchased after Jan. 31 will be subject to a $20 penalty per tag.
NOTE: The application/reminder bills that were recently mailed out for the 2021 dog licenses incorrectly indicate on the front of the form that all dog tags cost $0. This is an error and the correct prices are reflected on the reverse side of the application. Prices remain the same as last year. The mailing address and the remainder of the information listed on the form is correct.
