Community Development Block Grant
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Allocation funds are awarded to Clark County to benefit community projects that address a variety of issues in low-moderate income (LMI) or blighted areas. Funds are distributed to Clark County from the Ohio Department of Development via various CDBG designated programs including the CDBG Allocation Program, as well as competitive set- aside funding for Neighborhood Revitalization, Flexible Grants, Community Housing Improvement & Preservation and Critical Infrastructure. These programs can fund a broad range of activities, including economic development projects; street, water supply, drainage and sanitary sewer improvements; park acquisition and improvements; demolition of unsafe structures; rehabilitation of housing; planning activities, public services and neighborhood facilities. CDBG activities must be designed to primarily benefit low- and moderate-income persons or aid in the prevention or elimination of slums and blight. All CDBG projects funded by the Clark County Commissioners must be physically located within Clark County and outside the city limits of Springfield or provide public services to residents of Clark County.
