The Clark County Sheriff’s Office has a contract with Bethel Township to have one deputy assigned to ensure a vigilant presence within the township.
Deputy Mark Lane
Deputy Mark Lane is a graduate of Shawnee High School and obtained his Ohio Peace Officer Training from Clark State. Deputy Lane began his law enforcement career in 1994. He has worked for several law enforcement agencies, including the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office, as well as serving as an active Chief for the German Township Police Department. Deputy Lane began working for the Clark County Sheriff’s Office in May of 2011 and has worked in the Jail and Road Patrol Divisions. In 2016, Deputy Lane began working as the Educational Support Officer for all schools in Clark County.
Deputy Lane has many certifications which include Crisis Intervention Training and A.L.I.C.E. Training, as well as serving as an active shooter instructor and a member of the Project Lifesaver Team.
In his spare time, Deputy Lanes also serves as a Lieutenant for the German Township Fire and EMS Department. He also enjoys farming and golfing.
